2D Echo + Doppler Study illustrates the structure of the heart (anatomy), Doppler echo gives information regarding speed and direction of blood flow through the heart, as well as movement of its muscle (physiology).
Doppler echoradiography provides infromation regarding (a) stiffness of the heart in the elderly and those with unexplained shortnessof breath; (b) presence of valve leaks or obstruction in patients with heart murmurs; (c) presence of abnormal holes, defects or connections in the heart (congenital heart disease).
Vascular Study – a test that checks the blood flow in your arteries and veins.
Types of vascular studies: (a) Carotid Duplex Scan (b) Arterial Duplex Scan (Upper and lower extremities) (c) Venous Duplex Scan (Upper and lower extremities)
Vascular study provides information regarding (a) clots in the vein (DVT); (b) chronic venous insufficiency or leaky valves in the veins that may cause swelling or edema.
